24 Joyful Things to Do in 2024
As we embark on another year, I have been reflecting on this past year, what I want to continue doing or do more of, what I want to stop doing, and what I might want to do differently. In 2024, I am prioritizing my physical, mental, social, emotional and financial wellbeing, making decisions that lower my stress and anxiety and bring me joy. If you'd like to pursue more joy in 2024, join me in doing these 24 things:

24 Joyful Things to Do in 2024
Read at least one book a month just for fun (check out my list of Books I'm Excited to Read in 2024)
Spend one hour LESS on social media per day or do a digital detox for a full day every week
Move in a way that you enjoy, whether that's dancing, riding a bike or taking a hike
Text or call a friend or family member you haven't spoken to in a while
Leave a toxic job that keeps you up at night (or begin searching for your next opportunity)
Cook more meals at home that make your body feel good
Make an appointment with your doctor for an annual checkup
Read a book per month for your professional development or self improvement
Sleep eight hours per night
Keep a journal to process your feelings or document what you are grateful for
Meditate before bed (I prefer the Calm app)
Dedicate more time to creative pursuits and your passion, even if that looks like coloring alongside your kids for now
Volunteer for a cause that inspires you
Release relationships that no longer feel good or in which your efforts are not reciprocated
Begin saving for, book or take a dream trip
If you are a parent, spend 30 uninterrupted and undistracted minutes per day with your children
Sell or donate items you no longer need to free up space in your home and mind
Try something that scares you or forces you out of your comfort zone—it can be as simple as introducing yourself to a new person at a networking event or as big as skydiving
Resume or begin sessions with a therapist
Soak up some Vitamin D outside
Make plans to meet up with someone who makes your heart sing
Quit a habit that doesn't make your life better and doesn't make you happier
Set financial goals either alone or with a partner (You Need a Budget has a great step by step guide)
Learn something new—a language, a board game, a skill for your job, an instrument, anything!
This past year has been an interesting one full of very high highs and very low lows. I got to cross some very special items off my 40 Before 40 Bucket List but I also experienced a difficult year at what was supposed to be my dream job that resulted in becoming unemployed right before the holidays. This year taught me that my wellbeing is paramount and that it's okay to try and fail, as long as you keep going.
What will you be focusing your time and energy on in 2024?
